WEEK 3: WATER

Description: This week we’ll take water as our inspiration. We’ll explore water-based media like watercolor and cyanotype, but we’ll also use it as our subject matter: we’ll learn how to paint a landscape with water in it that really looks like water, we’ll work outside on the river banks as much as possible, and we’ll have a special visit from the team at Ipswich River Watershed who will do a water-themed craft with us. We’ll visit the new show at the Ipswich Museum called “UnderWater” by George Sherwood, and produce a sculpture inspired by the exhibition.
We will be outdoors as much as possible. We will use the indoor classroom at the back of the Whipple House in the event of rain.
